Golf and Swing Golf Tips from a Golf pro

While there are hundreds of tips regarding the golf swing, there are a few you should always remember if you are in a rut with your game.
1. Check the set up position: If your game is just a little off, chances are something has changed with the way you address the ball. Even the smallest of variance in the way you prepare for the swing can make a huge difference in the result. A half inch here or there will be the difference to several feet left or right of your target, or that of hitting the ball a little fat or thin.
If you have a friend or instructor who has seen your swing several times, ask them for some advice or have them video tape your swing. Through their eyes or the replay from video, they can help you point out some changes that have happened to your swing.
2. Take some time to prepare for your round: Golf can be a physical sport. Your body needs to be ready and alert to make a golf swing and being able to hit the range and putting green before your round is very important to being able to perform for the whole round.
A short simple practice routine consisting of hitting just 20 balls on the range with various clubs, then getting the pace of the greens down before you get to the first tee can make the difference between making pars and birdies on the first few holes, or bogy’s or worse because your body needs time to warm up.
3. Check your equipment: The most overlooked component when trying to play better golf is your equipment. Spikes in your shoes are worn out and no longer able to provide proper traction during your swing. Grips are worn, grooves are dirty. Each of these can hamper your score.
Make sure to replace your spikes as they wear down. If you play regularly it is best to replace them once a year.
Replace your worn slick grips at least once a season and make sure to clean them every few rounds to keep the dirt and oils from your hands off them.
Cleaning those dirty grooves will allow for better contact with the golf ball and more backspin. Backspin will help the ball fly true where clogged grooves will produce less backspin and more sidespin making the golf ball harder to control.
These golf tips can be a benefit to every golfer no matter what their experience or skill level. Following these simple and low cost tricks will keep your game in the best shape it can be throughout the entire golf season!
